Hello in Tagalog is hello. There is no equivalent word for it, but there are many ways to say hello using different phrases or greetings.  It is very common to say HELLO or KUMUSTA KA? which in English the words hello and how are you carries the same meaning in Tagalog.  

You always say HOW ARE YOU if you are asking someone’s  day, but if you mean to say hello, a nod, hi, hello or if the person is known to you you can start the conversation by asking kumusta ka? have a bit of a chat and bid each other good bye.
