In the Philippines, mermaids are mythical sea creatures often depicted as having the head and body of a female/male and a fish’s tail below the waist. Folklore says that mermaids use their voices to lure prey (humans). Many cases of people getting lost in the middle of the sea were said to be done by mermaids.
