This game allows the student to practice making simple to complex sentences. It also encourage pronunciation practice by repetition. For example, using the opening sentence, \”I went to the store and bought flavoring salt there\”, then the next will say, \”I went to the store and bought flavoring salt and cheesecake\”.
You are free to choose what start up sentences your students want to practice with. Let me give you some examples of expression based on the level of your ESL students.

For Beginner:
- I like to buy
- I want to buy
For Advance:
- I wish to purchase
- I prefer to purchase
Having a list of vocabulary about shopping or going to the grocery store will aide the students in speaking confidently by supplying the word at the end of every phrases. It hits multiple areas in speaking when a beginner is guided with simple phrase + basic vocabulary+ pronunciation while delivering their speech.

Duration of Activity:
- less than 5 minutes or up to 15 minutes
- *small indoor space (e.g. classroom)
Instructions:
- First, the players sit in a circle and the first one says: \”I will go to the store and buy herbs there\”.
- And, the next one says: \”I will go to the store and buy herbs and muffins there\”.
- Last, everyone says the opening sentence and adds a new item to the list in alphabetical order.
