There are so many questions that it’s hard to find the answer. So, it is necessary to make our questions wrote and express in appropriate way and in a right manner of asking it to a person to avoid miscommunication. The Tagalog “ba” is one the most used word in Tagalog in the Philippines. Two letters only but it hard to explain what it means. It can be used in asking a question to enhance or stress out the question being asked. which means, you are confirming to something.

The question word ba has no specific meaning and cannot be translated in English except that is a serves as spoken question mark indicate clearly that the speaker is asking a question.

Rule:

To make a statement in the subject-predicate word into a question, place “ba” immediately after the subject and just before the word “ay”.

• Is a picture A, a girl? 
• Ang larawang A ba ay babae?
• Is a picture B, a boy?
• Ang larawang B ba ay lalaki?

Example 1: Statement : Siya ay maganda.               She is beautiful.

                  Question :  Siya ba ay maganda?           Is she beautiful?

Example 2: Statement: Ana ang pangalan ko.           My name is Ana

                  Question:  Ang pangalan ko ba ay Ana?  Is my name Ana?

Example 3: Statement: Matalino si Maila.                  Maila is smart.

                  Question:   Matalino ba si Maila?            Is Maila smart?
