The Tagalog word “naman” which is very hard to tranlate into English. It can be used to contrast, to soften requests or to give emphasis. In English translation, the Tagalog word, naman‘ can be translate as (again, really, so, and too).
Rules:
“Naman” + adjective (pang-uri)
* add emphasis to adjective
“so” or “really”
Example: Ang cute naman niyan! That is so cute!
Ang init naman! It’s so hot!
Salamat naman! Thanks really!
*”Naman” translate as again.
Example:
Ikaw naman. You again.
Sana magkita tayo ulit. I hope we meet again.
*The Tagalog word “naman” can be used also to express disagreement or as a supplemental word to a sentence for emphasis.
Example:
Wala naman e! There’s nothing.!
